Backgrounds
It would likely be hard to find anyone pickier than I am about simple
desktop wallpaper. Over the years my taste in images has evolved and
been refined time and time again. Looking back on old screenshots I
see desks that today I would never think of running, but then they were
what I wanted. These days, images I like are in very short supply.
Several times over the past months I've seen an image that I liked...
sort of. And so, out of necessity, I've entered the desktop business.
My modifications aren't fancy -- I'm no artist -- but they serve my
needs. If they serve yours, that's just an added bonus.
Henna - Take 1
This image is compiled from two stock photos obtained off deviantart. The
eye image is from
here, the
image of the woman is from
here. I
used a colormap rotation on the eye image to recolor the flesh tones without
altering the reflection colors. The other image was softly cut out of its
background, then pasted and make only about 55% opaque. The colors are
very nice for blue, yellow or green transparent terminals.
In Rememberance
This image is modified from
an image by strip.
I liked the original, but it had too much black for me to run transparent
terminals on top. My modifications consist of the color around the image
material, and changing the eyes to green (just to break things up a bit).
